Accountability
How we handle corrections and material updates
Insurance rules, carrier practices, product specifications, and links change. Readers should have a clear way to flag an issue and understand what happens next.
Specific reports help
Send the page URL, disputed statement, and the strongest supporting source you have.
Authority decides
We compare reports against current primary sources and the exact jurisdiction or product.
Material changes are dated
Substantive revisions receive an updated date and, when needed, a visible correction note.
How to report an error
Use our contact page and include the URL, the sentence or data point you believe is wrong, why it matters, and a link or document supporting the correction. Reports about state law should identify the state and effective date. Product reports should include the exact model or ASIN.
What happens after a report
- We confirm that the report identifies a specific, checkable claim.
- We review the strongest available source, prioritizing regulators, statutes, filed forms, manuals, standards, and manufacturer documentation.
- We correct, qualify, remove, or retain the statement based on that evidence.
- We check nearby text, structured data, tools, and related pages for the same issue.
We do not promise that every disagreement results in a change. We do promise to distinguish evidence from preference and to avoid silently preserving a material error once it is verified.
Minor edits versus material corrections
- Minor edits: spelling, grammar, formatting, accessibility labels, or broken internal links may be fixed without a correction note.
- Material updates: changed limits, eligibility rules, calculations, recommendations, safety instructions, or conclusions receive a new updated date.
- Material corrections: an error that could change a reader's insurance, legal, financial, repair, or safety decision may receive a visible note explaining what changed.
Product and affiliate corrections
Prices, sellers, availability, bundles, specifications, and Amazon listings can change after publication. We remove unavailable or mismatched links when identified, but readers should verify the current listing, seller, compatibility, return terms, and included accessories before purchasing.
