How United Car Insurance publishes reliable guidance

Our process is designed to separate useful education from sales pressure, distinguish evidence from editorial judgment, and make the limits of our work visible.

Education first

Every page should help a driver understand a decision before presenting a commercial option.

Claims need evidence

Consequential insurance, legal, safety, and product claims require an identifiable source or careful qualification.

No invented expertise

We do not present the editorial team as licensed agents, attorneys, mechanics, or testing professionals.

Our editorial purpose

United Car Insurance publishes general U.S. auto insurance education, decision tools, claim checklists, and car gear comparisons. Our goal is to explain what a term means, why it matters, what trade-offs exist, and which next step a reader can verify independently.

We do not sell or bind insurance, represent a carrier, submit claims, or create an attorney-client, agent-client, or mechanic-client relationship.

How a page moves from idea to publication

  1. Intent definition: We identify the question the reader is actually trying to answer.
  2. Source collection: We prioritize current regulators, statutes, standards, policy forms, manuals, and other primary documents.
  3. Draft and comparison: We organize the facts, scenarios, trade-offs, and limitations in plain English.
  4. Editorial check: We check structure, source presentation, disclosures, obvious inconsistencies, and whether the conclusion follows from the evidence.
  5. Publication: The page receives a published date and an accountable editorial owner.
  6. Maintenance: A material revision receives a separate updated date. Corrections follow our published correction process.

Published, updated, and reviewed mean different things

  • Published is when the page first became available.
  • Updated appears only after a material content change, not a spelling fix or layout adjustment.
  • Reviewed identifies the editorial owner and, when shown with a date, the latest documented editorial review.

An editorial review is not the same as professional approval by a licensed insurance producer, attorney, adjuster, mechanic, medical professional, or certified testing laboratory.

AI assistance and human responsibility

AI tools may assist with outlining, organizing public information, identifying inconsistencies, or drafting. They are not treated as a source and do not replace source review, editorial judgment, affiliate disclosure, or responsibility for the published page.

Commercial independence

United Car Insurance may earn commissions from clearly labeled affiliate links. Compensation does not establish a ranking, prove quality, or replace a selection rationale. Savings and quote content remains internal until a legitimate insurance lead partner is disclosed.

Read our disclosure and product selection methodology for the rules that apply to commercial pages.
